Building a surgical simulator with haptic feedback using chai3D

In this project, the students will take on the development of a surgical robotics scene simulator incorporating haptic feedback. First, they will have to set up the scene by rendering the organs, the tissues and the robotic tool in the environment. They will then have to program the kinematics of the tool to correspond to a haptic device. This device will be used to manipulate the joints of the tool. Finally, the students will incorporate haptic capabilities to the organs and the tool so that they can interact with each other and perform a common surgical task, like tumor removal.
